Sophomoric but not in a good way like Superbad. Stinko slapstick with just a few saving lines. Wait for it on DVD unless you can't live without theater pop-corn and stale pretzel bites.

I thought the movie was hilarious. The previews didn't really do a good job but it was a good movie. alot of people don't give it enough credit. I can't wait too see it again on video.

The trailers for this movie didn’t really get me excited. They tell us only that some high school kids higher a bodyguard (Owen Wilson) to protect them from a bully. Doesn’t sound that interesting, does it? What they don’t tell you is that he’s a homeless Army deserter. Not as if that really makes a difference at all. There’s not a lot I can really say about this film. It’s very middle of the road. It’s slightly funny, slightly cute, and only slightly worth the time and money. The best part in this entire film is the pain and torture that these kids are put through. Maybe I just connected with it more being the dork that I was in high school. Being the but of everybody’s jokes and the target of their torment made me relate to that part of the film more. Personally I just feel that it wasn’t that good of a film. I feel that a large part of this film should have been left on the cutting room floor. All of Leslie Mann’s (George of the Jungle, Big Daddy) part should have been left out. Most of the scenes with Drillbit’s homeless buddies could have cut and the only difference made would be in the length of the movie. Really this film is truly, in every sense of the word, mediocre. All in all I say Rent it: It’d be good for a one time watch but I don’t wanna see it enough to own it. I’ll see you at the theater. Oh yeah... stop kicking the back of my seat.
